Coffee with the Sup
The Neosho R-5 School District invites you to their “Coffee with the Sup” on Thursday, March 15that 9:00 a.m. at their Administration Building at 418 Fairground Rd. The George Washington Carver National Monument invites you to attend “Coffee with Carver” on Thursday, March 15that 10:00 a.m. inside their visitor center. Join a park ranger for “Victory Garden”, a discussion about George Washington Carver’s work with farm families to build better gardens for an abundance of fresh, healthy food.

Methodist Men’s Potato Soup Benefit
Neosho United Methodist Men will host their annual potato soup fundraiser on Friday, March 16thin their church basement at 224 S. Wood. Lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The meal includes their famous potato soup, a dessert and drink. Adults are $4.00 each and children are $2.00 each. Take- outs and deliveries are available, please call the church office at 451-2310.
St. Patrick’s Day Bash
You are invited to the St. Patrick’s Day Bash at Sam’s Cellar on Saturday, March 17thfrom 11:00 a.m. – midnight. This will be their 6th Annual Celebration with music, fun and laughter and friends!

Missouri’s Largest Garage Sale
Neosho’s City-Wide Garage Sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 14th. This year’s event will be held the second Saturday in April because the first weekend is Easter.This annual event draws large crowds of bargain hunters to Neosho, so whether you’re buying or selling, mark your calendars and be ready for a busy day! Register your garage sale at the Neosho Daily News office located at 1006 W. Harmony.

Petfinder Shelter Challenge

Faithful Friends Animal Advocates will host a “Souper Faithful Friends Fundraiser” on Saturday, March 31stfrom 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Lampo Building. Come and enjoy ALL YOU CAN EAT SOUP! Soup and chili provided by: Café Angelica, Julie Fountain Caterer, Instant Karma/Eagle Drive-In, Great Western Dining and The Bayou. Adults – $7.00, Children (5 and under) – $3.00. There will be drinks and dessert too! Door prizes, raffle items, auction of wonderful homemade pies and lots of fun!
The 24th Annual May Day Mom Contest is an essay contest open to all Neosho R-5 2nd & 3rd graders. The winner and her child will be honored the Friday before Mother’s Day. They will be escorted around town in a chauffeur-driven limousine to collect their prizes. Businesses who would like to participate by donating a gift for this year’s May Day Mom should complete and return a response form or call the Chamber by Wednesday, April 4th.
2nd Annual Bright Futures Golf Tournament
The 2nd Annual Bright Futures Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 20that 9:00 a.m. at the Neosho Golf Course. $150 a team (4 man scramble) includes greens, cart, breakfast, complimentary beverage cart and lunch. Griffith Motor Company is the title sponsor and offering a Chevy Cruze (or equal value) for a hole in one! The rain date is April 27th. Art in the Park
George Washington Carver National Monument will host their Art in the Park on Saturday, April 28thfrom 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Come and enjoy this free event showcasing the artwork of George Washington Carver. Plein-air artists will set up along the trail, capturing the beauty of the woodlands, prairie, and streams. Artists will conduct art workshops throughout the day and visitors are encouraged to participate. A “budding artists” area will feature natural dyes, painting color swatches and other children’s art activities.

Neosho R5 Schools Preschool and Kindergarten Screenings will be offered March through April 2012 at the PAT office at Field School located at 302 Smith Ave. Eligibility requirements: Preschool – child must be four years old before August 1st, 2012; Kindergarten – child must be five years old before August 1st, 2012.
